Membership FAQ

Q: How can I get an application right now?

A: Click here to view and print our membership application.

Q: What exactly does CalGeo do? Why should I join?

A: CalGeo works diligently on behalf of our members to raise the status of private-practice geotechnical engineering in the eyes of the public and other professionals. The value and scope of services offered by geotechnical engineers is now more recognized than ever, and our members are playing larger roles on their project teams as a result. Please visit our Member Benefits page for more information.

Q: If my co-worker is a CalGeo member, am I also a member?

A: Yes. Once a company becomes a member, all of its employees are considered members and enjoy all the same privileges as the primary CalGeo contact. To be added to our mailing list for events and announcements, please email Executive Director Marsha Myers.

Q: Who is eligible to serve on CalGeo Committees?

A: All CalGeo members are encouraged to volunteer on one of our committees. Please be aware that service on our committees is a privilege of membership and will require regular attendance and participation.

Q: When will my membership expire if I join today?

A: Your CalGeo membership is for 12 months, beginning September 15. If you join prior to that period, your dues will be prorated the first or second year of membership, depending on your membership category. We are confident that if you take full advantage of the opportunities available to you as a CalGeo member, you will want to annually renew your membership.
